So I’m helping out a friend I’ve known for 20 years or so online today as we discovered that we’re both new to Notion, me only by a couple weeks! Being the Technical Writer I am and the fact that we both have books written and things we’ve published it made sense to me to build a custom system to track data based on what she needed but using my own books as sample data.
Setup New Table Page
Add A Page
Blank Page
Name the Page and Add an Icon
Click the +
Add New Table Inline
Name Your Table and Your Headings
Set your data types
Column 1 is a Title and should be the main theme of the table as it will also link to detail pages
Column 2 is set as a multi-select property
Column 3 is a text field for notes
Column 4 is for files of a wide variety such as Word, PDF or Images
Column 5 is a date field
Column 6 is also a date field
Column 7 is a checkbox
Column 8 is a multi select
Column 9 is a number field with the properties of the numbers set to dollar. This column also has Sum chosen at the bottom for the calculated field.
The Little Bo Peep entry below is linked to a details page where images, text and anything that can go on this page can be put there including a copy of the magazine article, pattern, photos from the fair or whatever is wanted
